Attendance

1. Students must be on the school premises at least 10 minutes before each school session.

    2. Irregular attendance at school, habitual laziness, dishonesty or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school within or without are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.

    3. No leave of absence is granted except on previous written application from the parents or guardians and strictly only for valid reasons.

    4. If a student is absent owing to minor illness, he/she must on return to school, bring a note written on the special page provided for the purpose, in the School Diary (pgs. titled Leave/Absence Record) and signed by the parent or guardian.

    5. Parents should not send their child to school if he/she is not well, even in case exams are scheduled. Instead they must submit a medical certificate if absence is for more than 2 days or fill in the Leave/Absence Record

    6. Parents are requested not to ask for half day leave unless there is an emergency. No half day will be granted during examination.

    7. During school hours no student is allowed to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher or until the class is dismissed. Permission of the Head Master / Mistress is required for the student to leave school premises during school hours. Breach of this rule will ne viewed seriously. Parents are therefore advised not to ask their children to come away from school before the school gets over.

    8. Children will not be sent home, even in an emergency, with anyone other than the parent / guardian unless a written request in sent with the unknown person.

    9. Attendance on the first day of school, as also on important functions such as Independence Day is compulsory, failing which a fine can be levied.

    10. A minimum of 75 % attendance in required in both terms to appear for the final exams or to be promoted to the next class.
